Welcome! Help us Plan the Future of the Folsom River District!

We are glad you are here, and ready to participate in this immensely important project that will set a vision for the future of the River District along Lake Natoma, Folsom’s most identifiable and beloved natural resource. The City Council has appointed a Citizen’s Advisory Committee to guide the development of a Master Plan, and representing a broad community perspective is critical to its success. Please take your time to add your comments, and also read what others are saying. You can agree with someone else, or respectfully disagree. It is OK to think out of the box and “big picture” because it will be a long-term plan. Ultimately, all the community input will be considered holistically and thoughtfully. Your time is greatly appreciated.

The River District Master Plan is intended to create a vision to better guide and inform future actions and priorities for Folsom’s expansive River District. This community mapping activity and questionnaire are the first steps to gather feedback on community preferences, needs, issues, and opportunities within the Master Plan area to help achieve the project goals.  The River District Master Plan aims to foster greater opportunity for recreation, economic development, and celebration of the area's cultural, historic, and environmental resources. 

There are two steps we would like you to complete:

1. Mapping Activity - Use icons at the top of this page or click the "Add Comment" box and drag the icons where you would like to leave a comment, idea, and/or suggestion on the map. See Mapping Activity Instructions and Icon Glossary buttons at the left of this webpage for additional information on leaving mapping comments. Please note that the City does not own/control all the land within the River District boundary; much of it is private property or owned/managed by State Parks. All your comments are welcome, but ownership will be a primary consideration when evaluating ideas.

2. Written Questionnaire - Click Written Questionnaire button at the left of this webpage to answer a few quick questions about the Folsom River District.
